"The strength that pulled me against him definitely did not belong to a kid, and the move brought the front of my body flush with his. His fingers fisted my loose hair and he pulled down, forcing my head back more and opening my mouth under his. My blood was thrumming in my vein and I could feel my heartbeat every second, everywhere. The heat in my stomach, and lower, was driving me crazy and I arched my body toward him. If this was a game I wasn't sure if we were winning or losing anymore."
Possible Spoilers: Beware!:
I'm so glad that Lex is head strong and didn't get caught up in partying or lose focus on what she really wanted. She doesn't have many people in her life that she can rely on besides her best friend, Ava. Her mother is crazy unsupportive and makes her feel unwanted, which is terrible and an epic fail.
Ava reminds me so much of what my oldest daughter is going to be like. Ava's only focus is her designs, she loses everything in the chaos that is her room, and enjoys a good party, but she is an amazing friend to Lex.
Ava's family has, for the most part, taken Lex in. Lex spent most of her free time at Ava's house, which means also growing up around Ava's little brother, Dylan. Dylan is HOT!! Let's just get that out of the way :) I loved Dylan! He is smart, nervous, confident, self sacrificing, and just PERFECT! He wasn't a "badass" which I loved. He looked like one but didn't act like it. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a good badass but it wouldn't have worked for him.
Schooled is Piper Lawson's debut novel. I can't wait to see what else she comes out with. She made me feel frustrated, angry, and happy right along with the characters. I would get all giddy waiting to see what happened next between Dylan and Lex.
