"I reach inside me to find the strength - and grasp the hem of my tank top. It's a completely different experience than stripping onstage, because I'm a different person. Onstage I'm Candy, the sexy fearless, powerful woman who knows how to use her sexuality to get everything she wants. In this house, under Ivan's pale gaze, I'm his little one, helpless and hopeful, afraid but eager to try."
Ivan and Candace have an interesting relationship. Their story is sad and a wee bit depressing. I felt sorry for both of them. Ivan and Candace have troubling pasts, which in a way is good because they understand each other. But it definitely isn't healthy.
I like how their story unfolded and knowing Candace's thoughts, but I really would've liked to know Ivan's POV. At least a little bit of it. I feel like part of the story was missing without having his take on some things. Other than that I enjoyed following Ivan and Candace on their way to self discovery and opening their hearts to each other.
Just a warning: I think some people might have an issue with this story. It's dark. I've read worse but can see where some might not like the relationship between Ivan and Candace.
