Excerpt:
One of Blake's hands buried itself in my hair and cradled my head holding me to him.  My face pressed up against the collar of his hoodie, and I breathed him in.  He smelled familiar, like damp grass and fresh air, of a time when things were less complicated, and my heart ached for us.  In that moment, we weren't two strangers reunited by chance; we were sixteen-year-old Blake and Penny.
And we needed each other to survive.

My thoughts:
LOVED this story!  Okay, in case you haven't figured this out, I'm a huge fan of damaged characters.  Blake and Penny have a troubled past and plenty of shit buried in it.  They have so much history and so many feelings for each other, but there is still a lot standing in their way.
I loved how strong Penny was despite everything that was against her.  She didn't let what others thought destroy her.
Blake was frustrating, but I understood where he was coming from and why he did what was expected of him.  He challenged expectations and fought for what he wanted, it was a little late but better late than never.
They never forgot each other and that most definitely deserves a HEA!

Release Date:  June 2, 2015
Pages:  330

Excerpt:
"I don't have much choice, do I?  I guess he really does hate me."  Sloane swallowed the big lump of nerves in her throat and tried to pull herself together for what she knew was going to be the fight of her life.  She and Liyah took their seats as the meeting got underway and she was never so glad to sit down.  Her legs felt weak and her stomach was queasy.  If it weren't for the fact she hadn't been with anyone since Gates, she would have sworn she was experiencing morning sickness all over again."
"Maybe not so much hate, as maybe severe dislike."

My thoughts:

Sloane is a strong, determined woman that just wants a good life for her little boy.  Gates is, of course, a sexy multi-millionaire that has decided work is more important and less heartbreaking.

A Secret To Keep was a sweet read.  I completely understood why Sloane did what she did and I don't blame her one bit!  Sloane and Gates had an undeniable connection and I'm glad that the book ended the way it did.

This book contains drama, secrets, some sexy time, second chance romance, an interracial couple, and a HEA.

Release Date:  October 25, 2015
Series:  The Swingtown Series (Book 1)
Pages:  88

Excerpt:
I've always been a fighter, that person who never gives up.  I'm always up for a challenge, and you will never see me backing down when I'm presented with one.  After receiving some life-changing news today, I decided to fight a little harder and not give up on the one thing I've been craving the most.  Intimacy.

My thoughts:
Levels is a short read but packs a lot in.  Including a steamy sex scene and what good communication can accomplish, if both people are willing to listen and compromise.  Jaime did an amazing job of showing the many different levels of a marriage and how one decision can change everything.

Release Date:  November 21, 2015
Series: Emerald Cove (#2)
Pages:  258

Excerpt:
And in that moment I finally hear Joel's truth.  He was always there to catch me, and I'll forever be grateful for that.  Yet the real rush is in falling, whatever the consequence.  In not knowing the outcome.  In that moment where you've risked it all, you've laid everything on the line, and it could go either way.

My thoughts:
The Twenty-One...what can I say?  I just finished it and I'm gutted.  I felt Ellie's pain right along with her.  I bawled my eyes out...complete ugly cry!  Have tissues (a whole box) with you when you read this!

The story is beautiful and sad, hopeful and filled with heartache.  I loved it!  I know it's daunting to jump into a story knowing it's going to rip your heart out but aren't those some of the best?

The Twenty-One is a standalone.

Falling to Pieces by Leddy Harper

Release Date:  November 17, 2015
Pages:  450

Excerpt:
But the worst damage comes from not being prepared.  From being hit with disaster without an ounce of warning.  From being deceived when the weatherman predicts sunshine and blue skies, completely ignoring the monsoon brewing outside your front door, just waiting to completely decimate you whole.

My thoughts:
Aubrey Jacobs wasn't handed a happy life.  She just wants to stay invisible until she can escape to college and gain freedom from her mother.  Axel Taylor is the new history teacher.  He sees Aubrey, really sees her, and wants to help.

Aubrey and Axel are frustrating and lovable.  Their story may seem taboo to some because of the student/teacher relationship, but Leddy Harper's writing is so beautiful and the way she explains their growing relationship you forget that it's wrong.  I really enjoyed reading Falling to Pieces.  This is a second chance romance with a HEA.
